Back pain can appear as one of the first symptoms of pregnancy and lasts until the third quarter. There are many safe ways to treat and prevent back pain and do not cause any harm to an unborn baby. Making a few simple changes can help relieve pain and keep the pregnant mother as comfortable as possible while waiting for the arrival of your baby.

According to the Mayo Clinic, it is believed that chiropractic therapy, massage and acupuncture are safe during pregnancy and may provide relief for some women. Sometimes a massage at home can also provide relief.

Talk to your doctor about taking anti-inflammatory medications. According to the Mayo Clinic, Tylenol is safe for pregnant women, but the Advil and Motrin are not. It is best to use a drug as a last resort, and be sure to consult your doctor before taking any medicine during pregnancy.
