Curious to know what the hair trends for 2012?
The opinion of four international hair stylist, four of the most famous stylists who take care of their hair for fashion shows and the most important magazines in the fashion world. Who better to tell them and tell us what haircut will be the trend for the coming year?
A small summary, to begin with?
We will see a return to more natural forms, textures and more dry mat and hair soft and light. There will certainly influences the back. Dominate the ’20s, ’50s and ’60s.
Enrico Mariotti-WET HAIR AND A STRONG RETURN TO NATURAL GLAMOUR
After more than a month of fashion shows, the conclusion of the Paris fashion week, I think the trend emerged for women for Spring Summer 2012 is the ‘wet hair’, says Enrico Mariotti, hairstylist official Pantene Italy. Style ‘surf chic’ that was developed depending on the imagination of the greatest hair stylist in the world. There will be a strong return to glamor and a natural desire for spontaneous beauty with soft textures. Communicate the message that your hair this summer is ‘wash and go’. The natural movement of the hair is the crown jewel of the summer. Will spray you spray on damp hair to give texture and will turn it into soft waves bun to get thin. We will also see influences from the past as a ’50s and ’60s.
Marco Iafrate – ’20 YEARS AND INFLUENCES THE RETURN OF STYLE ‘flapper’
Designers are always trying to reinvent the look of the past, confirmed Marco Iafrate, creative director for TIGI Italy. This year we have seen a return of the 20’s Flapper Style. We saw in the shows of Gucci, Ralph Lauren and Mark Fast. In general we have seen, then a return to the freshness of women in a world of innocence. ‘Innocent creatures with crops and soft hair flying floating in a fantasy world’, the mood here is seen in the show for Louis Vuitton and Kristian Aadnevik. These were the messages and keywords mentioned by the stylists.
OLIVIER LEBRUN – TEXTURE DUSTY, NOTHING DONE TOO!
According to Olivier Lebrun, Parisian hair stylist (who meet regularly at the backstage of fashion shows and working with magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Madame), we can expect more of the texture ‘mat’. The trend is hair a bit ‘dusty’ hairstyles and not too rigid. Then we will see a return of the style of rock and even hair. The hair products ‘must have’ for this season are: mousse, hair spray and dry shampoo. Better then use your fingers to apply them. One last tip: ‘Nothing done too!’, Nothing too built hairstyles.
UFFELS ANDY – THE KEY WORDS ARE: SIMPLE, RAW, COOL
The haircuts are becoming more sophisticated, says Andy Uffels, international creative director for Salon Netherlands. And it is very important to have a cut which allows varying the style much as possible. Becomes more important, therefore, the role of the hairdresser as a style expert. The ideal look for 2012 is ‘super clean’. Obviously using hair products but must always look very natural. The trick is to mix the products ultra light. The keywords for the coming season are: simple, raw, cool. Think of a cut with a very natural texture and slightly dry – as a final touch – a lock that is taken with studied nonchalance behind the ear.
